Yale Prima to launch Next-Generation Smart TV platform in Australia. JVC and AIWA Brand to lead the way in retail space.
Introducing a New Revenue-Sharing Model for Retail — with Consumer Privacy at the Core
────────────────────────────────────────
Australia — Yale Prima PTY Ltd today announced the upcoming Australian launch of its next-generation smart TV range, followed by the initial Australian rollout of the AIWA smart TV portfolio this quarter, marking a fundamental shift in how consumer electronics brands, retailers, and consumers share value.
The launch is underpinned by a strategic market partnership between JVC, AIWA, and Whale TV, structured as a coordinated commercial rollout designed specifically for the Australian retail and advertising ecosystem, using the worlds #1 independent TV operating system.
Through this partnership, Whale OS 10 will be deployed across upcoming 2K and 4K smart TV and Projector ranges under the JVC and AIWA brands, forming the foundation of a unified, local go-to-market strategy. The collaboration establishes a single, aligned route-to-market for retailers and advertisers seeking to participate in the platform while maintaining strong brand stewardship and retail alignment.
For the first time in the Australian TV market, major retail partners will participate directly in ongoing media and advertising revenue generated on-screen. This reverses a long-standing industry model where global technology brands capture the majority of post-sale value while retailers absorb margin pressure, inventory risk, and showroom cost.
“For decades, retailers have funded the TV category while value leaked upstream after the sale. This launch changes that — returning economics, transparency, and long-term upside to retailers, without compromising consumer trust.”
- JVC Australia Spokesperson
The new JVC and AIWA smart TV and projector ranges will launch in partnership with Australia’s largest consumer electronics retailers, forming the first foundation retail partners.
In parallel, the platform has been designed with a consumer-first privacy framework. Unlike existing global smart TV ecosystems:
-
No personal consumer data is sold, re-hypothecated, or shared with third parties
-
Consumers may participate fully anonymously
-
Transparency, choice, and trust are built into the platform by design
This approach directly addresses growing regulatory, consumer, and industry concerns around data usage, while ensuring privacy is not traded for performance or price.
The launch addresses long-standing concerns within the Australian retail sector regarding value extraction by international incumbents, while introducing a commercially sustainable model built for local market conditions.
JVC confirmed that national marketing campaigns, in-store activations, and platform-led media initiatives will roll out alongside the AIWA brand launch this quarter, with broader JVC range expansion to follow.
The first wave of products will be available in Australia shortly, with additional retail partners and formats to be announced.
